En tant que mouvement organisé se réclamant comme tel, le féminisme n’a pas, à ce jour, existé au Burkina Faso. Néanmoins, des antiques résistances aux luttes actuelles, il y a toujours eu des féministes dans notre société. En effet, qu’elles l’ignorent ou refusent de l’assumer, de nombreuses femmes burkinabè ayant travaillé à l’extension des droits et du rôle des femmes dans la société sont des féministes. La situation des femmes s’est améliorée sur le plan formel. Les textes de loi sont plus égalitaires mais des efforts doivent être faits pour l’effectivité des droits. Les chantiers sont encore nombreux. Le féminisme est peut-être à venir au Burkina Faso.
