En partant d’une revue des travaux de sociologie urbaine publiés en français de 2005 à 2011, au Québec, cette synthèse explore la diversité des thématiques abordées, situe la discipline dans ses contextes institutionnels et surtout ses interfaces avec d’autres disciplines et professions. Le constat d’un rapport initial ambigu à la ville et d’une position au carrefour des traditions intellectuelles européennes et américaines n’en débouche pas moins sur de nouvelles manières de penser l’urbanité.
