Abstract
La médiation familiale importée du Québec à la fin des années 1980 en France s’appuie sur des bases théoriques identifiées. Appliquée aux conflits interpersonnels, nationaux et internationaux, des séparations conjugales et des divorces autour des enjeux des enfants, cette pratique est encouragée à l’échelle européenne. En France, institutionnalisée par un diplôme d’État et une prestation de service octroyée par la Caisse d’Allocations Familiales, elle fait depuis 2006 l’objet d’un programme de développement sur la base d’une évaluation départementale des besoins et des ressources. Or sur le terrain, nombre de médiations et de pratiques polymorphes en lien avec les familles sèment la confusion. Ceci se fait au risque de méconnaître les intérêts d’une pratique véritablement nouvelle et singulière. Des clarifications paraissent donc indispensables pour l’ensemble des acteurs concernés et l’évaluation des politiques publiques d’appui à la parentalité.
