Afin d'illustrer la cohérence, au sein de la démarche utopique, entre représentation de l'enfance et représentation de l'avenir, on présente ici l'analyse de denx récits d'anticipation. L'un relève de l'utopie et donne du futur et de l'enfance qui en est porteuse une image prodigieuse; l'autre se rattache à l'anti-utopie et développe de l'avenir et du peuple enfant qu'on y découvre une vision extrêmement négative. Ainsi voit-on à l'œuvre certains traits du processus de création culturelle, chez deux écrivains dont l'imaginaire social joue, quoique en directions opposées, son rôle de critique du présent et d'élucidation de certains possibles.
