Abstract
Cet article propose une analyse des stratégies déployées par une association patronale pour s'adapter aux multiples transformations de son environnement. Il montre la capacité des acteurs, considérés comme des entrepreneurs institutionnels, à transformer les institutions du travail pour qu'elles soient plus représentatives de leurs besoins et intérêts. Le cas de l’Association des manufacturiers du vêtement pour hommes au Québec (AMVQ) permet de lever le voile sur le comportement associatif des employeurs et surtout, d'illustrer le potentiel dont l'acteur est investi pour enclencher (ou freiner) le processus de changement institutionnel, et dans ce cas précis, pour transformer son modèle associatif en réponse aux fortes pressions vers la décentralisation des relations industrielles.
