Abstract
Selon l'A., dans les pays occidentaux secularises les fideles sont entres dans une troisieme phase depuis Vatican II. La premiere a ete l'attente d'un nouveau Code, qui devait mettre en pratique les idees conciliaires. Durant la deuxieme phase, les efforts convergeaient vers l'application du Code secundum legem. La troisieme periode entraine un changement radical de paradigme, du fait que les structures creees ou confirmes par le Code de 1983 ne peuvent plus etre maintenues telles quelles. En cherchant le sens des evolutions historiques en cours, l'A. analyse les tendances actuelles sous cinq tetes de chapitre: le droit canonique et la notion de verite; la verite canonique et la foire aux croyances religieuses; les initiatives laiques; les ceremonies sans limites; et l'Eglise dans sa position minoritaire choisie.
