Osteossarcoma apendicular em tíbia: relato de caso

Abstract
O osteossarcoma ou sarcoma osteogenico e a neoplasia ossea primaria mais diagnosticada no cao sendo responsavel de 80% a 85% das neoplasias com origem no esqueleto. O osteossarcoma e caracterizado pelo crescimento de celulas neoplasicas que formam osso imaturo e ou osteoide, apresentando comprtamento agressivo tanto no local do crescimento quanto na formacao de metastases, causando grave desagregacao do osso acomentido. O osteossarcoma ocorre em caes de media idade, em torno de 7 anos. Caes de racas grandes ou gigantes sao suscetiveis ao desenvolvimento do tumor, tais como Great Dane, Greyhound, Rottweiler, Fila Brasileiro, Sao Bernardo, Dinamarques, Setter Irlandes, Doberman, Pastor Alemao, Golden Retriever, Boxer, Labrador e Mastiff. A amputacao tem sido a opcao disponivel para o tratamento de osteossarcoma. Entretanto, 85% dos caes, que sao submetidos a esse procedimento morrem apos um ano, devido a metastase. Apos este periodo, 15% dos caes que nao desenvolveram metastases, sao considerados curados. Neste relato sera abordado o caso clinico de um cao mestico das racas Fila Brasileiro e Mastiff Ingles, femea, que desenvolveu osteossarcoma apendicular na regiao proximal da tibia.
