Abstract
En Suède, la politique familiale se présente comme une politique de prévention et d'intégration sociale basée sur des principes d'égalité et de justice sociale. Elle place au premier rang la protection de l'enfant, l'objectif étant non pas de faire naître des enfants en plus grand nombre (même si la baisse du taux de fécondité a été enrayée à partir de 1990), mais de mettre à leur disposition des conditions favorables à leur épanouissement et à leur insertion. Le développement des équipements d'accueil de la petite enfance et les mesures permettant de concilier travail et vie familiale s'inscrivent dans cette perspective. Le congé parental, que les pères utilisent de plus en plus, renforce, dans les comportements et les mentalités, la prise en charge plus égalitaire de la responsabilité familiale par les hommes et les femmes, dans la société et dans la famille. La récession économique n'a pas infléchi la tendance, tout en faisant apparaître plus fortement la dépendance des politiques familiales par rapport aux politiques d'emploi et de régulation du marché du travail.
