Abstract
Dans le contexte contemporain d’individualisation, le rapport de « l’héritier » à la transmission familiale et patrimoniale apparaît comme un observatoire des stratégies que l’individu développe pour répondre à son aspiration à l’autonomie. Porteur du devoir de mémoire et de transmission qui le définit comme « fils de », il développe des stratégies de composition avec ce devoir afin de donner du poids à un « je ». Cependant, ce « je » est toujours inscrit dans un « nous » à deux dimensions : l’héritier a sa place dans le groupe familial et il a aussi des relations individualisées avec certains de ses proches parents. La compréhension de l’articulation de ces deux dimensions permet d’éclairer quelque peu les évolutions des formes de transmission.
