La restitution des savoirs est une notion riche qui permet de réfléchir aux pratiques de la science contemporaine et à ses enjeux éthiques, économiques et politiques. Cet essai explore les différentes formes de restitution à l’œuvre dans l’institution scientifique et y découvre les ramifications de la science dans l’économique, le social et le politique. En subvertissant la notion charitable de restitution comme geste de courtoisie ou modalité de transfert de connaissances pour en faire une exigence propre à la justice cognitive, je propose d’en faire un pilier de la revendication d’une autre science, d’une science égalitaire, plurielle et non marchande.
