Abstract
Depuis mai 2014, François Alabrune est le directeur des affaires juridiques du ministère des affaires étrangères et du développement international. La direction ainsi placée sous son autorité exerce notamment une double mission : d’une part, conseiller le ministre, son administration et les services diplomatiques sur les questions juridiques ; d’autre part, représenter la France devant les instances internationales à caractère arbitral ou juridictionnel, notamment la Cour européenne des droits de l’homme et la Cour de justice de l’Union européenne. De juillet 2009 à mai 2014, François Alabrune fut ambassadeur, représentant permanent de la France auprès de l’Organisation pour la sécurité et la coopération en Europe (OSCE). Auparavant, il occupa différentes fonctions : à la direction des affaires juridiques, à la représentation permanente de la France auprès de l’Union européenne à Bruxelles, à la mission permanente auprès des Nations Unie à New York et en tant que Consul général de France à Québec.
