Mobilite intergenerationnelle des gains chez les enfants des immigrants au Canada

Abstract
Nous analysons la mobilite intergenerationnelle du revenu des Canadiens nes de parents immigrants d'apres les donnees du Recensement de 2001. Nous brossons un portrait detaille de la population canadienne et fournissons des estimations de la mobilite intergenerationnelle chez les enfants d'immigrants originaires de 70 pays differents. Le degre de persistance, estime au moyen de modeles de regression vers la moyenne, est a peu pres le meme pour les immigrants que pour l'ensemble de la population, et la mobilite intergenerationnelle chez les immigrants est plus importante au Canada qu'aux Etats Unis. Nous recourons egalement a la regression quantile afin de distinguer le role du capital social de celui d'autres contraintes limitant la mobilite et constatons que ces contraintes existent et sont associees au niveau de scolarite du pere.
