Abstract
کتابخانۀ مکلنان[1] دانشگاه مکگیل[2] حاوی مجموعههایی از ذخایر نفیس و گوهرهای درخشان فرهنگ اسلام و ایران میباشد، قطعات کمیاب از قرآن کریم از جملۀ آنهاست. یکی از کهنترین قطعههای قرآن که در این کتابخانه نگهداری میشود آیاتی از سورۀ مبارکۀ زمر را در بر دارد. این قطعه به خط کوفی بر دو طرف پارهای از پوست نگارش یافته است و برای نشان دادن حرکت حروف و اعراب آیهها از نقطههایی قرمزرنگ استفاده شده است و نمیتوان به یقین دربارۀ نقطۀ حروف متشابه یا نشانههای تقسیم آیهها اظهارنظر کرد. از نشانههای درخور توجه این دستنوشته نقطههایی پیرامون واو میباشد. این نقطهها با توجه به حرکت حرف بعد از واو نهاده شدهاند. وجود دو نقطه بین و قبل از برخی از الفهای این قطعه نیز قابل توجه میباشد. مقالۀ حاضر که حاصل ارزیابی این نسخۀ منحصر به فرد در مدتی طولانی است، بیانگر کوششهای طلایهداران کتابت قرآن کریم و شیوههای ابداعی آنان در نگارش کلام اللّٰه مجید میباشد.
