Las últimas reformas constitucionales de Bolivia (2009) y Ecuador (2008) establecieron un sistema de paridad de género para conformar las listas a cargos legislativos. Pese a ello, en ambos países las mujeres que compiten por el acceso a cargos públicos son víctimas de la violencia y acoso político. Este trabajo tiene por objeto analizar comparativamente la interacción resultante entre las prácticas formales e informales vinculadas al proceso electoral que obstruyen el acceso de las mujeres al Poder Legislativo Nacional a través del estudio del impacto político institucional de la primera aplicación del sistema de paridad en las elecciones generales celebradas en el año 2009.
