Abstract
"El objetivo de este trabajo es investigar la sensib ilidad de niños prelectores, lectores principiantes y lectores avanzados a la presencia de distintas un idades subléxicas (sílaba, rima, ataque y fonema) a través de una serie de tareas que evalúan la conciencia fonológica. Asimismo, se propone analizar si la posición de las unidades es relevante para el reconocimiento de las mismas. Participaron del estudio 145 niños de distintos niv eles de escolaridad: sala de 4, preescolar, primero, tercero y sexto grado. Los resultados evid encian diferencias de rendimiento en el procesamiento de las distintas unidades subléxicas respecto de los grupos evaluados. Además, los resultados ponen en evidencia la sensibilidad a la información fonológica previa al aprendizaje formal de la lectura. Se ha encontrado una sensibil idad creciente a todas las unidades subléxicas, con una mayor dificultad para el reconocimiento de los fonemas finales y los ataques. Las diferencias cuantitativas (acierto) y cualitativas (posición y tipo de unidad subléxica) presentes en el rendimiento de los niños prelectores y lectores principiantes desaparecen en los lectores más avanzados."
