Abstract
Le professeur de philosophie reproche essentiellement à la musique contemporaine sa pauvreté mélodique. Il fait l’hypothèse que l’invention mélodique provient de la structuration psychique primaire chez l’enfant. Il souligne le lien de la mélodie avec l’origine vocale de la musique occidentale où il discerne un ordre rythmique faible. Il émet l’idée que la musique contemporaine ravive la peur des traumatismes originaires. Les codes de la musique contemporaine sont artificiels et inintelligibles, engendrant une musique déshumanisée qui n’intéresse qu’un minuscule public. Seul le système des bourses et commandites de l’État maintient en vie une musique cliniquement morte, située en dehors de tout principe éducatif valable et condamnée à l’enfermement schizophrénique. L’auteur appelle de ses vœux l’apparition d’un vent nouveau qui rendra accessible la musique contemporaine de création.
