"Este artículo presenta los resultados de una investigación documental interpretativa orientada a reconocer las temáticas, los enfoques de investigación, los referentes teóricos y las formas de abordaje de la relación comunicación y desarrollo en 29 investigaciones realizadas por las facultades de Comunicación Social del país. En primer lugar, plantea como marco teórico la evolución del concepto de desarrollo en relación con la comunicación desde los años 50. En segundo lugar, describe las principales características y tendencias de la reflexión de las universidades sobre la comunicación y el desarrollo en la complejidad del contexto nacional. Finalmente, propone rutas metodológicas, temáticas y teóricas que contribuyan a la consolidación del campo de la Comunicación y el Desarrollo, en permanente construcción."
