Pembangunan adalah suatu proses kegiatan yang dilakukan dalam rangka mengadakan perubahan-perubahan ke arah keadaan yang lebih baik.Kondisi perekonomian di Indonesia dilihat dari segi perekonomian makro mengalami beberapa peningkatan, tetapi dari segi perekonomian mikro mengalami penurunan karena masih banyak pengangguran di Indonesia.Usaha mencapai tujuan pembangunan tersebut, Pemerintah menciptakan tahap-tahap pelaksanaanya, baik untuk jangka panjang maupun jangka pendek yang meliputi: perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pembiayaan, pengawasan dan evaluasi dengan tidak mengecilkan arti peran dari pihak-pihak lainnya dalam partisipasi mensukseskan pembangunan nasional maupun daerah. Diantara penjelasan di atas pada Kabupaten Brebes, pendapatan daerah yang paling menonjol yaitu dari sektor Pajak Daerah. Pajak Daerah adalah pajak yang ditetapkan oleh Daerah untuk kepentingan pembiayaan daerah tersebut. Di Kabupaten Brebes, pajak daerah dapat diklasifikasikan meenjadi beberapa jenis pajak, antara lain : 1) Pajak Hotel; 2) Pajak Restoran; 3) Pajak Hiburan; 4) Pajak Reklame; 5) Pajak Penerangan Jalan; 6) Pajak Pengambilan Bahan Galian Golongan C; 7) Pajak Air Bawah Tanah; 8) Pajak Sarang Burung Walet; 9) Bea Perolehan Hak atas tanah dan Bangunan.Kata kunci: Pajak, perekonomian makro, Kabupaten Brebes, pajak daerah.
