Las emociones basicas son estados emocionales determinados biologicamente, cuya expresion es universal e innata. Existen dos formas de evaluar el reconocimiento emocional: en el rostro y en la voz (prosodia). La prosodia emocional refiere a la transmision, a traves de la entonacion melodica del lenguaje, de los estados emocionales del individuo. El objetivo del presente trabajo es evaluar la presencia de alteraciones en el reconocimiento facial de emociones basicas y en la prosodia emocional en la variante conductual de la Demencia Frontotemporal (DFTvc). Se evaluo una muestra de 14 pacientes del Laboratorio de Deterioro Cognitivo del HIGA Eva Peron con diagnostico de DFTvc. Se emplearon 60 fotografias del set Pictures of Facial Affect y se administro una bateria compuesta por tres tareas, seleccion, apareamiento y denominacion. Para la evaluacion de la prosodia emocional se utilizo el subtest Prosodia emocional - comprension del Protocolo para la evaluacion de la Comunicacion de Montreal (MEC). Se encontraron diferencias significativas para el reconocimiento facial de emociones basicas entre controles y pacientes: seleccion (F= 12.287; p= 0.002), apareamiento (F= 11.492; p=0.002), denominacion (F= 13.721; p= 0.001) y total emociones (F= 17.339; p=0.000). El 71% de los pacientes mostro alteraciones en el reconocimiento facial de emociones basicas. La prueba Prosodia emocional - comprension del MEC mostro correlaciones significativas con las pruebas de reconocimiento facial de emociones basicas: seleccion (r de Pearson 0,669, p. 0,012), apareamiento (r de Pearson 0,554, p 0,05), y total emociones (r de Pearson 0,632, p 0,020). Estos hallazgos sugieren que la alteracion en el reconocimiento de emociones basicas en DFTvc seria amodal. Palabras clave: emociones basicas - prosodia emocional – DFTvc.
