Abstract
Abstract Aside from normal regulatory activities, companies and other entities that sell or provide insurance products are regulated in two special ways. Solvency regulation concerns insurers' financial ability to pay future claims against policies sold, and price regulation concerns the level of premiums that are charged to policyholders. Actuaries generally play a key active role in both of these regulatory systems.
