Abstract
L’abbé Paul-André Leclerc en tant que sujet offre un portrait singulier et, même si certains traits sont saillants, il fallait éviter la caricature. Il fut un véritable militant du patrimoine agricole et rural et un fervent croyant des vertus du passé. Par cet exercice, nous rendons compte d’une vie consacrée à l’oeuvre patrimoniale et muséale d’une époque et d’un lieu qui n’a pas besoin de présentation, le Kamouraska. En effet, c’est à La Pocatière, sur le seuil de la porte du Bas-Saint-Laurent, que l’abbé Leclerc a cherché à témoigner à travers le Musée François-Pilote, qu’il a fondé en 1974, d’un temps maintenant révolu. Seule la mémoire de cette période a pu être restituée par le regard, parfois nostalgique, du clerc historien, mais combien bienveillant. Il a été l’artisan d’une muséologie en direct, là où le contact avec le passé est immédiat, mais non sans médiation, on en jugera.
