Abstract
El presente trabajo tuvo como objetivo, demostrar la factibilidad del empleo de las radiaciones gamma para mejorar la calidad sanitaria de la fibra de saya en polvo obtenida de la cascara del frijol (Glycine max) importado de Canada y Brasil con destino a la industria medico-farmaceutica. Como resultado de la caracterizacion de la flora microbiana de la cascara de saya, se obtuvo que el microorganismo mas representativo para el estudio de radiodescontaminacion fue el Bacillus cereus, cuyo valor fue de 2,6 kGy. La dosis de 4 kGy fue considerada suficiente para disminuir los canteos totales y de BacilluS cereuS presentes, posibilitando obtener un producto de buena calidad microbiologica para su empleo en la produccion de complementos dieteticas enriquecidos con fibra.
