Abstract
Tras la entrada en vigor del Protocolo de Montreal, un tratado disenado para asegurar la proteccion de la capa de ozono mediante la reduccion de la produccion y consumo de agentes responsables de su destruccion, se empezaron a buscar sustancias alternativas que no solo realizasen las mismas funciones y no fuesen daninas a la capa, sino que tambien fuesen economicamente viables. La eficacia de los compuestos era esencial: si es necesario invertir mucha energia en su creacion entonces se liberaria mucho dioxido de carbono a la atmosfera, traicionando el proposito de la operacion.
