Bürger welchen Gemeinwesens bin ich? Nach der Darstellung der allgemeinen Problemstellung und der grossen Linien eines seit zehn Jahren in Montréal laufenden Forschungsprogrammes sowie auf der Basis der vorliegenden Daten werden die Bedingungen des heutigen Bürgerseins beschrieben, die an die Figur des «polyglotten Nomaden» erinnern. Als Schlussforgerung werden einige Vorschläge zur Diskussion gestellt, die das Verhältnis von Wissen und politischer Bildung betreffen.
