Cet article, en s’arretant sur Je suis un ecrivain japonais, presente d’abord la posture developpee par Olivier Cadiot et Pierre Alferi dans les deux seuls numeros de leur Revue de litterature generale pour montrer comment l’usage thematique de la poesie dans Je suis un ecrivain japonais partage leur objectif de decloisonner les genres au profit d’une occupation de l’ecriture. Cet article expose ensuite la maniere dont le roman de Laferriere defait l’eternelle opposition entre theorie et desir en construisant une « experience de pensee » qui produit des correspondances entre le passe et le present, la poesie et le roman, le Japon et Haiti. Troisiemement, en observant le travail a la fois litteral et metaphorique que le roman fait du cliche, cette etude propose une critique de la notion d’originalite, avant d’observer, en conclusion, les strategies d’eloignement de soi utilisees par Laferriere pour reactiver le vieux projet avant-gardiste de reconcilier l’art et la vie.
