Dans la poursuite de leur objectif, les auteurs ont «[...] effectué de nouvelles mesures de mobilité socioprofessionnelle intergénérationnelle, [ont] vérifié l’évolution du phénomène dans le temps et en fonction de la profession du père, et [ont] examiné les variations du phénomène selon diverses caractéristiques de la fratrie des sujets. » (p. 74) Les conclusions de l’«étude indique[nt] que les caractéristiques de la fratrie d’un individu, ainsi que sa position au sein de cette fratrie, jouent un rôle peu marqué mais néanmoins non négligeable en tant que déterminants de la mobilité socioprofessionnelle entre les générations au Saguenay - Lac-Saint-Jean. Il apparaît donc pertinent de prendre en compte ces facteurs dans l’élaboration des modèles explicatifs de ce phénomène.»
