Nous retiendrons trois œuvres représentatives de Le Clézio qui appartiennent à des registres différents : Désert, en lien direct avec la colonisation et ses conséquences, la nouvelle « Le Passeur » évocatrice du drame des immigrés clandestins et Etoile errante, fondée sur l’émigration croisée des Juifs et des Palestiniens. Chacune de ces œuvres tisse des liens entre réel et fiction, empruntant un cadre ou une situation à des données tangibles perceptibles dans le temps et dans l’espace, comme autant de repères reconnaissables. Le réel de la réalité, se sublime par les mots qui l’expriment, dans une poétique des affects soulevant le voile pour accéder à une vérité. Ce réel crédible, représenté par les jalons spatiotemporels, porte la voix de l’insurrection contre les injustices qui privent des être humains de leur dignité, les confinent dans le silence et les dépossèdent de leur identité.
