Abstract
Cet article étudie la représentation des sociabilités journalistiques au xix e siècle : elle évolue d’une littérature taxinomique et panoramique marquée par l’étude de moeurs et le récit jusqu’à une littérature de témoignage fonctionnant plutôt sur le souvenir et le partage de l’échange dialogué. Les journalistes entrent donc dans une sociabilité étrange et narcissique où il faut vivre pour pouvoir se raconter. C’est surtout l’industrie du mot d’esprit qui se développe le plus, provoquant une inflation du genre journalistique de la nouvelle à la main, véritable ancêtre de l’histoire drôle moderne.
