Abstract
Cet article compare deux camps limitrophes qui ont émergé après le séisme haïtien de 2010 : Corail, camp formel aidé par le dispositif humanitaire, et Canaan, camp informel. Après avoir exposé le cadre général de la précarité quotidienne, l’article relate l’histoire de Corail et comment, malgré l’aide humanitaire, ses habitants s’y sont révoltés. Puis, l’informalité incontrôlée de Canaan, qui est délaissé par les ONG et l’État haïtien, est présentée. L’ensemble interroge la notion de communauté, parfois imposée par le processus de mise en camp (et dysfonctionnant), parfois lien social permettant aux personnes de se projeter dans un temps allant au-delà du temporaire : celui de l’encampement comme lieu de vie.
