Nous menons depuis trois ans, dans un cours d’épistémologie en formation des maîtres, une expérience pédagogique inédite : l’utilisation, en contexte d’apprentissage ouvert, d’une simulation informatique en ligne, la Boîte Noire, dont nous avons conçu et développé plusieurs versions. Adoptant un processus intégré de conception et de design centré sur l’usager, nous avons procédé à l’élimination progressive du référent de la simulation, tout en visant l’atteinte d’un équilibre optimal dans l’interactivité et le réalisme médiatique. Au terme de nos travaux, nous disposons d’une simulation non disciplinaire simple d’utilisation, motivante, riche en possibilités d’action et d’interprétation et propice à soutenir une stratégie d’apprentissage favorisant la réflexion sur les notions de connaissance et d’explication. Pour illustrer nos propos, nous présenterons et commenterons les diverses versions de la Boîte Noire (www.teluq.uqam.ca/spersonnel/mcouture/boitenoire).
