In diesem Beitrag werden uberblicksartig der Aufbau, die ethnographische Herangehensweise und ausgewahlte Ergebnisse der Dissertation „Inclusion in Canada“ vorgestellt. In ihr rucken drei kanadische Provinzen in den Fokus, die bereits seit mehreren Dekaden schulische Inclusion praktizieren: New Brunswick – bisweilen als „Nordstern fur Inklusion“ (Hinz 2006) bezeichnet – Prince Edward Island und Quebec. Im Rahmen einer ethnographischen Feldforschung wurden Schulen dieser Provinzen hinsichtlich ihrer inclusiven Unterrichtspraktiken, Unterstutzungsstrukturen und Rollen untersucht. Als Impulse fur die deutschsprachige Fachdiskussion um inklusive Bildung und Erziehung konnen ein nonkategoriales und systemisches Verstandnis von Unterstutzung und neue Gestaltungsideen fur schulinterne Berufsrollen und fur multiprofessionelle Zusammenarbeit formuliert werden.
