Abstract
This article examines the competency needs of occupational therapists in school-based practice. Current methods and barriers to acquire and maintain professional competence are explored. A Web-based resource was developed and is presented as one means of supporting the competency needs of occupational therapists in school-based practice. Results of a pilot study assessing the usefulness and usability of www.publicschoolot.com are reported and support the use of this Web-based format as a method for acquiring knowledge and maintaining competency in areas relevant and unique to school-based practice.
