Cette recherche vise à mettre en évidence certaines dimensions que des enseignantes débutantes en adaptation scolaire examinent devant un problème d’ordre éthique rencontré à l’école. Quatre dimensions éthiques dans un problème de ce type sont considérées : les personnes impliquées, les valeurs en jeu, les principes de conduite professionnelle et le cadre professionnel. Cette recherche s’insère dans une approche qualitative. Par le moyen d’entrevues individuelles semi-dirigées, les dimensions qui ressortaient dans la réflexion de onze participantes devant un problème éthique ont été analysées. Les résultats obtenus dans cette recherche ont permis de faire ressortir que la dimension du cadre professionnel est très peu abordée par les enseignantes participantes. Les lois, les normes de la commission scolaire et de l’école ainsi que la convention collective semblent méconnues. À la lumière de ces résultats, des pistes pour la formation initiale et la période d’insertion professionnelle sont proposées. Ces pistes visent l’amélioration des connaissances qui s’avèrent fondamentales de ce système de régulation, et ce, dès l’entrée en pratique.
