Abstract The red long persistent phosphor (LPP) β‐Zn3(PO4)2: Mn2+,Dy3+ is precipitated by addition of NH4OH to an aqueous or HNO3 solution of ZnO, MnCO3, (NH4)2HPO4, and Dy2O3 followed by sintering in a thermal‐carbon reducing atmosphere (corundum crucible, 1223 K, 3 h).
