Abstract
Cette étude explore les réactions de deux populations adolescentes, un âge décisif pour le développement des attitudes intergroupes, quant au pluralisme culturel et religieux qui caractérise leurs sociétés. Il s’agit de comparer les attitudes de deux groupes de lycéens, l’un en contexte d’immigration récente, en Italie, et l’autre en contexte de longue expérience d’immigration, en France. Les hypothèses de la recherche, fondée sur une démarche quantitative, prévoient que les différences de contexte – l’historicité de l’immigration et le rôle de la culture politique nationale sur la manière de gérer le phénomène – représentent les principales sources de variation des stéréotypes et des attitudes envers l’immigration. La prise en compte de ces deux variables permettra de comprendre pourquoi les jeunes Italiens expriment un préjugé à caractère socioéconomique alors que les jeunes Français expriment un préjugé à caractère identitaire.
