Abstract
Universit d'Orlans en 2004, sous la direction de Genevive Haroche-Bouzinac qui a elle-mme consacr plusieurs ouvrages aux lettres et mmoires. Il s'appuie sur 255 lettres tires de la srie W des Archives nationales, documents selon l'auteur longtemps rests dans l'oubli , en dpit de quelques publications comme celle d'olivier Blanc. Des mmoires de suspects incarcrs sont galement utiliss, ce qui nuit hlas et l au srieux de l'entreprise dans la mesure o leur origine et leur vracit sont parfois douteuses. Cela pose le problme crucial des sources, d'autant que le XIX e sicle a fourni, on le sait, un contingent impressionnant de souvenirs reconstitus , quand ils n'taient pas purement et simplement invents et/ou crits par d'autres plumes.
