Abstract
Les réflexions émises dans ce texte concernent tout à la fois une institution nouvelle, celle du programme d’aide aux chasseurs du Nunavik, qui induit — souvent par le biais de congélateurs municipaux — une forme nouvelle de circulation du gibier, mais aussi la monétarisation de l’économie inuit dans ses aspects les moins connus, c’est-à-dire les usages de la monnaie dont on ne sait s’ils sont aujourd’hui spécifiques ou non aux sociétés inuit. Ces réflexions s’appuient sur un usage raisonné des concepts de Karl Polanyi à partir desquels sont problématisés certains aspects de la redistribution effectuée par le programme d’aide aux chasseurs, et notamment la transaction monétaire qui a cours au moment de l’achat du gibier par la mairie.
