Abstract
La Relation du voyage d’Espagne de Madame d’Aulnoy’s (1691) ha tenido una inmensa importancia literaria y puede considerarse como un espejo de la cultura de España y sus costumbres de finales del siglo XVII. Las descripciones de Madame d’Aulnoy no tienen como objetivo juzgar la cultura española ni son un intento de favorecer la cultura francesa en relación con la española. No obstante, la observación de la Otra cultura y costumbres le permiten definir su propia identidad como mujer francesa. Este artículo analiza la forma en que la escritora francesa, Madame d’Aulnoy, retrata a las mujeres españolas y hasta qué punto los prejuicios y prácticas de la literatura de viajes clásica están presentes en sus descripciones.
