Abstract
Em sua autobiografia The Ways of my Grandmothers , a escritora Beverly Hungry Wolf da tribo Blood , pertencente a comunidade Blackfoot , reespacializa o Canada por meio de um lugar de recuperacao e de reconstrucao de sua identidade como mulher indigena, distanciada do self cultural pela intervencao da educacao catolica e da vida urbana. O resgate de um legado feminino na reconstituicao historica do povo Blackfoot , a partir de reminiscencias presentes nos depoimentos de varias senhoras que ela denomina suas avos, perfaz o corpus narrativo. Portanto, o espaco autobiografico de The Ways of my Grandmothers ganha materialidade nas historias do eu entrelacadas as historias contadas por mulheres da nacao Blackfoot , intentando lega-las a geracoes futuras. O objetivo desse artigo e analisar o material historiografico trazido pela autora em sua autobiografia a luz de conceitos sobre o tempo e sobre a historia e discutir a legitimidade do testemunho oral na reconstrucao do passado de um povo marginalizado.
