Abstract
Le fait d’étudier les représentations des femmes dans les productions culturelles de grande consommation permet d’analyser les liens entre le développement de la société et les changements dans l’imaginaire commun qui y est rattaché. À cet égard, les héroïnes d’Emma Gendron s’inspirent de différents modèles génériques. L’article examine dans quelle mesure elles s’en distinguent ou non, notamment par l’entremise de la figure de la femme qui exerce une profession. On observe ainsi deux formes principales de réalisation de soi au féminin, soit par le fait de choisir son époux selon certains critères et par l’exercice d’une profession artistique ou non.
