Abstract
La problématique liée aux minorités religieuses en région québécoise est un sujet encore peu exploré par les sciences sociales en comparaison des travaux réalisés à Montréal. Bien que ces minorités soient moins le fait de l’immigration que dans la métropole, certaines régions composent elles aussi avec la réalité de la diversité et de la transformation démographique. Le cas des musulmans permettra de nourrir notre réflexion sur la diversité religieuse en lien avec l’immigration. Comment cette population vivant en situation minoritaire compose-t-elle avec ce nouveau contexte social ? Quel rôle joue la mosquée pour ceux qui la fréquentent ? Comment le lieu de culte musulman s’intègre-t-il dans le paysage religieux de la région ? L’objectif de cet article est donc de nous éclairer sur la présence de migrants musulmans en contexte régional.
