Abstract
Henri Troyat ne vit pas son éloignement du pays natal de manière pathologique, car son expérience exilique n’a pas donné lieu à un déracinement et n’a pas abouti à l’errance. Aussi l’écrivain s’affranchit-il du pacte autobiographique et de l’interrogation sur le sujet-écrivain qui semblent caractériser l’écriture autobiographique contemporaine. Dans ces conditions, la présente recherche se propose d’analyser, dans la production romanesque de cet auteur, l’itinéraire qui, partant de la notion d’exil, aboutit à celle d’appartenance. De la sorte, nous voulons penser les notions d’exil et d’appartenance à l’intérieur d’une problématique identitaire qui s’exprime dans et par l’écriture. Plus spécifiquement, il s’agit d’examiner la manière dont Troyat écrit son exil, le lien qu’il entretient avec cet espace et sa posture identitaire.
