La littérature d’enfance en salle de classe permet de créer un milieu riche en discussions autour du récit (Mercer, 2002; Pontecorvo et Sterponi, 2002). De plus, l’exploitation de la littérature dans un contexte pédagogique serait profitable pour l’expression de relations causales impliquées dans les récits (Blanc, 2009; van Kleeck, 2008) et pour le développement de la morphosyntaxe chez l’enfant (Veneziano, 2002, 2005). Aux fins de cet article, des mesures initiales et finales ont été prises avec quatre élèves de premier cycle du primaire ayant une surdité et s’exprimant à l’oral. Dans le but de favoriser l’entrée dans l’écrit, des interventions en lecture interactive ont été réalisées afin de soutenir la structuration du récit et la production d’extensions morphosyntaxiques. Les données ont été analysées sous l’angle de la morphosyntaxe (Dudley et Delage, 1980) et sous l’angle de la structuration du rappel de récit (Makdissi et Boisclair, 2008). Entre les données initiales et finales, les résultats montrent deux complexifications essentielles au regard de l’émergence de la littératie. On remarque que les enfants ont majoré non seulement la production d’extensions morphosyntaxiques, mais également celle de l’expression de relations causales dans l’organisation discursive en situation de rappel de récit. Or, la morphosyntaxe et l’expression de la causalité sont au coeur de la compréhension en lecture, elle-même garante, en grande partie, de la réussite scolaire des jeunes (MELS, 2005-2008).
