Abstract
"Con frecuencia se ha querido ver en la hermenéutica pre-heideggeriana una metodología de las ciencias humanas. Aunque la idea se remonta a finales del siglo XIX, esta metodología hermenéutica de las ciencias humanas no fue elaborada de manera propiamente sistemática más que después de Heidegger y en reacción a su concepción ontológica de la interpretación, por el jurista italiano Emilio Betti (1890-1968). Dado que su pensamiento ha sido poco conocido, se presentarán, con ocasión de su centenario, las ideas directrices, pero también los límites, de su teoría hermenéutica. Se subrayará la simetría entre las hermenéuticas de Betti y de Gadamer: mientras que el jurista Betti encuentra su paradigma de la comprensión en la actividad contemplativa del filólogo, Gadamer, cuya formación es filológica, se inspira en el modelo jurídico para desarrollar su hermenéutica universal de la aplicación."
