Abstract
A gestao das organizacoes e um tema que ha muito interessa a diversos pesquisadores nos campos academico e profissional. Devido as varias diferencas existentes entre os diversos tipos de entidades, necessario se faz um estudo distinto entre a gestao de organizacoes que visam o lucro e a daquelas sem fins lucrativos. Em paises como, Estados Unidos, Inglaterra, Australia e Canada, o estudo da gestao de organizacoes do terceiro setor atingiu tal grau de desenvolvimento, que e consideravel o numero de cursos de formacao de gestores dessas entidades, nos diversos niveis, inclusive de mestrado. Este trabalho discute, as principais caracteristicas do chamado terceiro setor e da gestao das organizacoes que dele fazem parte, alem de resultados de pesquisas sobre cursos de formacao de gestores daquelas entidades. Nao e objetivo deste, esgotar o assunto em tela, mas contribuir para as pesquisas desenvolvidas no Brasil sobre o tema.
