Sob os Estados-Unidos da América e o Canadá atual - que antecedeu todos os documentos jurídicos que estabelecem seu fundamento colonial em Londres, em 1867, pelo Ato da América do Norte britânica - existe um outro Canadá escondido e oculto por todos, inclusive por ele mesmo. De uma superfície comparada à do Brasil contemporâneo e conhecido pelos europeus com a denominação de Nova França, este Canadá é imenso e suas fronteiras não definidas se estendem mais além da bacia Missouri-Mississipi para encontrar o México assim como o Grande Oregon - hoje desaparecido - para, em seguida, chegar virtualmente ao Caribe através do país da Luisiana. Um tal Canadá é e permanece parte integrante da América crioula e nativa, encarnando, dessa forma, uma identidade mais ligada ao Brasil e à América Latina do que aos Estados Unidos e à América britânica que se apropriou de seu nome e de suas mitologias para transformá-los em uma terra fantasma para um povo fantasma, e enterrar essa América canadense e este povo canadien sob os escombros da Manifest Destiny...Abstract: Hidden beneath the United States of America and present-day Canada – prior to all legal documents used, under the British North American Act of 1867, to establish its colonial founding in London, there is another Canada concealed by everyone… including itself. Known to Europeans as New France and comparable in extent to Brazil, although her borders were never defined, this other Canada is immense. It covers an area reaching as far as Mexico and Greater Oregon – that has since disappeared – to extend beyond the Missouri-Mississippi watershed and virtually down to the Caribbean through the “Pays de la Louisiane”. Such a Canada is an integral part of Creole and Native America. As such, it is more akin to Brazil and Latin America than to the USA and to a British America that has appropriated its name and symbols through a fabricated memory, thereby rendering it 20 Jean Morisset a ghost land for a ghost people. Un tel Canada est et demeure partie intégrale de l’Amérique créole et première, incarnant à ce titre une identité plus reliée au Brésil et à la Latino-Amérique qu’aux États-Unis et à la British America qui s’est appropriée son nom et ses mythologies pour en faire une terre fantôme pour un peuple fantôme.
