Abstract
Bill S-2 came into force in Oct. 1, 2008, affecting changes primarily to the Hazardous Materials Information Review Act (HMlRA), with related amendments to the regulations affected by the Act. The Act was first passed in 1987, when it established the Hazardous Materials lnformation Review Commission (HMRC), when it established the Hazardous Materials lnformation Review Commission (HMRC), the quasi-judicial body responsible for inspecting the accuracy of MSDSs. This paper provides an overview of the amendments and how they wilI affect chemical manufacturers, and some of the possible changes they may seen in subsequent amendments in future years.
