Abstract
Un glissement statutaire peut se produire parmi les bénéficiaires de minima sociaux : un passage de l'insertion au handicap ou un renforcement du statut de handicapé. Si des professionnels du travail social souhaitent le passage à l'AAH, c'est que les actions d'insertion échouent parfois et que de nombreux bénéficiaires sont à la frontière du RMI et de l'AAH. Le passage au statut de handicapé est l'objet de négociations et d'argumentations déployées par les professionnels et les plus démunis. L'enjeu étant de peser sur les formes de l'identité sociale des plus démunis, l'issue semble osciller entre un mieux-être et une stigmatisation renforcée.
