A new control strategy with a single PID controller for the reduction of noise levels in hydraulic system driven by Swash plate pump, by optimizing the control unit, is evaluated. The length of piston stroke in the Swash plate pump is determined by the angle of inclination of the swash plate, which is varied by a control cylinder. The control unit determines the swiveling angle of the swash plate and the piston stroke, while the hydraulic input is generated by the hydraulic unit consisting of a secondary pump. The noise levels investigated for a control strategy with a single PD controller shows that the parameters of the controller are the proportional gain of unity and the derivative gain equals 0.02. The PID is parameterized to have a proportional gain of 1.9, integral gain of 8.4, and derivative gain of 0.01.
