Abstract
Cet article n’a pas pour objet la sociologie du changement. Il aborde un tout autre sujet, celui du renouveau de la théorie sociologique requis à tous égards pour certains afin de pouvoir expliquer les sociétés aujourd’hui en continuel changement ou en perpétuelle mutation. En effet, la société devenue « liquide », changeant à la vitesse de l’éclair sous les flux incessants du capital et de l’information, rendrait caducs le social et son explication à la lumière de configurations stables produites dans cette intention en vertu de la théorie sociologique. Qu’en est-il exactement ? On verra, au fil de cet article, que les théories destinées à « refaire la sociologie » se bornent à bien des égards à concevoir le social ou le collectif sous les traits du changement sans toutefois être capables de l’expliquer.
